Description

This qualification provides occupation outcomes with a range of specialised knowledge and skills to undertake skilled work and as a pathway for further learning required for arborists in the arboriculture industry.
Possible job titles relevant to this qualification include the general title Arborist, and the specialisation titles:
Climbing Arborist
EWP Arborist
Ground-based Arborist.
The qualification covers both ground-based workers and those working at heights.
This qualification does not require a person to work at heights, however, units that include the skills and knowledge required to work at heights, both from an elevated work platform (EWP) and by climbing trees, are included as elective streams.
This qualification is suitable for an Australian Apprenticeship.
Occupational licensing, legislative or certification requirements may apply to this qualification in some jurisdictions. Specific determination should be sought through the relevant State or Territory.

Packaging Rules
To achieve this qualification, competency must be demonstrated in:
- twenty three (23) units of competency:
- fourteen (14) core units plus
- nine (9) elective units.

Climbing specialisation
- select all five (5) units from Group A.
- select at least one (1) unit from Group D
- an additional three (3) units may be selected from Group D, from this or any other endorsed Training Package or Accredited CourseSelected elective units must be relevant to job outcomes in Arboriculture and must be chosen to ensure the integrity of the qualification at AQF level 3.

Elevated Work Platform (EWP) specialisation:
- select all four (4) units from Group B.
- select two (2) units from Group D
- an additional three (3) units may be selected from Group D, from this Training Package or from any other endorsed Training Package or Accredited CourseSelected elective units must be relevant to job outcomes in Arboriculture and must be chosen to ensure the integrity of the qualification at AQF level 3.

Climbing and EWP specialisation:
- select all six (6) units from Group C
- an additional three (3) units may be selected from Group D, from this Training Package or from any other endorsed Training Package or Accredited CourseSelected elective units must be relevant to job outcomes in Arboriculture and must be chosen to ensure the integrity of the qualification at AQF level 3.

Ground-based outcome without a working-at-height specialisation:
- select six (6) units from Group D
- an additional three (3) units may be selected from this Training Package or from any other endorsed Training Package or Accredited CourseSelected elective units must be relevant to job outcomes in Arboriculture and must be chosen to ensure the integrity of the qualification at AQF level 3.
