This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to educate clients on waste management. The unit covers conducting research to identify current waste management issues, trends and client information needs, and selecting target groups requiring education. The unit also covers planning, documenting and delivering waste management information sessions to clients including providing clients with assistance to source and access additional industry information as required. It requires the ability to present relevant information which engages the target audience, and use communication skills which facilitate understanding.The unit supports those who work in lead roles in a waste management team.No licensing, legislative, regulatory, or certification requirements apply to this unit of competency at the time of endorsement.
