Elements and Performance Criteria
1. Identify work health and safety requirements
- 1.1 Work health and safety (WHS) requirements applicable to job context are identified
- 1.2 Roles and responsibilities of key personnel connected with WHS are identified
- 1.3 Personal protective equipment (PPE) applicable to job context is identified
2. Follow work health and safety procedures
- 2.1 Housekeeping is carried out according to workplace procedures and WHS requirements
- 2.2 Manual-handling techniques and safety equipment are used according to workplace and manufacturer procedures and WHS requirements
- 2.3 Personal protective equipment (PPE) is used according to workplace and manufacturer procedures and WHS requirements
- 2.4 PPE is maintained and stored according to workplace and manufacturer procedures
3. Respond to hazards in the workplace
- 3.1 Workplace hazards and risks are identified and reported according to workplace procedures
- 3.2 Non-conformance in the use, storage and labelling of hazardous materials is identified and reported to appropriate personnel
4. Follow emergency procedures
- 4.1 Emergency procedures are identified, followed and reported to appropriate personnel according to workplace procedures and WHS requirements
- 4.2 Emergency equipment is accessed and used according to workplace procedures and WHS requirements
