Description
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to help choose a location or site for an artwork, and participate in planning for its installation. The planning involves research, consultation and review as part of the process.It applies to individuals who work in all areas of artistic practice. Typically this work would apply to sites for artwork or installations in public spaces.No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

Elements and Performance Criteria
1. Identify and document site information
- 1.1 Consult with relevant people to identify potential site to be researched
- 1.2 Identify key information relevant to potential site
- 1.3 Collect information about site from relevant sourceswithin required timeframes and according to procedures
- 1.4 Identify and document site characteristics that may affect options for the creative work to be used, and present to relevant people as required
2. Assist with planning
- 2.1 Determine impact of site characteristics on planning work in consultation with relevant people
- 2.2 Contribute ideas on options for planning work suitable for nominated site
- 2.3 Participate in the process of selecting most suitable approach to work that responds to site characteristics and ideas for creative work
3. Finalise site planning process
- 3.1 Document planning processes using appropriate format and present to relevant people as required
- 3.2 Seek feedback on own work and note areas for future improvement
