To provide learners with sufficient skills to produce a report on a personal
computer. The report will include information retrieved from a computerised
system (eg. library catalogue or database).
Range of Variables
Skills may be acquired either on- or off-the-job using a variety of methods.

It is preferable that learning take place over a minimum of nine weeks so that
there is adequate time for learners to assimilate knowledge and reinforce
concepts. Learners should have continued and ready access to a computer system
with appropriate software to enable them to practise their skills.

Where learners are released from work to study intensively at an educational
institution for a set period (block release), learners must have prior access
to learning materials (eg. course notes) that cover all theory and practical
instructions.
