LICENSING / REGULATORY INFORMATIONThis qualification is currently cited as meeting some of the requirements for certification as a Marine Engine Driver Grade 2 as described in Part D of the National Standard for Commercial Vessels (NSCV) by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA).
Certification will require achievement of the MAR30213 Certificate III in Maritime Operations (Marine Engine Driver Grade 2) and other requirements; people seeking certification should check with AMSA.

Traineeships and Apprenticeships
Part-time is defined as a minimum of 20 hours per week.
School students must be at least 16 years of age to comply with sea service requirements and cannot complete this qualification while at school. School based duration is 24 months. Training after Year 12 is required.
