Description
To provide structured Generic Training both on and off the job in Clerical Administrative Skills.
To develop entry level competencies necessary for office work across industries whilst also offering various initial pathways for future development.

Electives provide opportunities to stream the traineeship into different skills areas to suit different occupations. For example, trainees in a general clerical area should complete Group A or D electives; payroll or accounts clerks should complete Group B or D; front office clerks/receptionists or personal assistants should complete Group C; typists/word processing operators or data entry clerks should complete Group D. The Training Plan for this program indicates the actual hours allocated
for each module.
2 In addition to the above modules trainees will need to complete the
following subjects:
Induction 3.00 31295 Preparation and Application for Recognition
of Prior Learning (RPL) 10.00
3 Through the RPL process trainees may apply for credits in any accredited
course in which they enrol.
Credit transfer arrangements may apply to the Certificate of Business
Office Skills.
4 This course is recognised under the National Framework for Recognition
of Training (NFROT).
OFF-THE-JOB TRAINING
To achieve the Certificate for the Clerical/administrative Traineeship,
trainees must successfully complete a maximum of 400 hours of off-the-job
training over a 12 month period in addition to on-the-job training.
The 400 hours of training consists of 330 nominal hours of core modules plus 70
hours of elective modules.
