Description
This is a qualification for those engaged in driving operation job roles within the transport and logistics industry.
It involves a prescribed range of tasks involving known routines and procedures and taking some accountability for the quality of work outcomes.
Job roles
Job roles and titles vary across different sectors. Possible job titles relevant to this qualification include:
commercial driver
courier driver
light rigid driver
pickup and delivery driver
ride share driver
taxi driver
tow truck driver.
Successful achievement of the licensing units within the qualification must align with licensing and regulatory requirements applicable to driving and state or territory regulatory requirements.

Packaging Rules
A total of sixteen (16) units of competency comprising:- five (5) core units listed below, plus
- one (1) licensing/industry elective unit from the licensing/industry elective units listed below, plus
- ten (10) general elective units from the general elective units listed below.
Up to three (3) of the general elective units may be selected from any relevant nationally endorsed Training Package or accredited course. The general elective units must contribute to the vocational outcomes of the qualification.
Where imported units are selected, care must be taken to ensure that all prerequisite units specified are complied with.
Where a prerequisite is attached to a unit it is identified by the symbol ∟
