Description

To provide learners with the skills and knowledge to seek employment
opportunities at a managerial or supervisory level in the Human Services area
specifically in the Administration, Community Development and Resource
Management areas.

VET Info Notes
1 All Stage One “off-the-job” modules should be completed before any
Fieldwork (Stage Two) is undertaken. It is envisaged that the field component
will be undertaken in a block of 12 weeks.

2 Customisation of Management Modules

a) The National ACTRAC Management (NGMS) modules which form part of this
Diploma course should be delivered in an Human Services context.

b) Lecturers delivering the following modules are to have extensive
experience working in the Human Services industry, preferably at management
level, and who posses a tertiary qualification of Associate Diploma/Diploma or
higher:

- NGMS101 Managing Information **
- NGMS107 Managing and Developing Teams
- NGMS111 Managing People - Workplace Practice *
- NGMS113 Managing Finance - Setting and Achieving Budgets
- NGMS117 Managing Group Problem Solving & Decision Making
- NGMS118 Managing People - Training and Development

* The lecturer required to deliver information covering Learning
Outcomes 1 and 3 of NGMS 111 Managing People - Workplace Practice will have
Industrial Relations experience.

Training in Human Services 001 and 50879 Field Training in Human Services 002.

5 Module 50884 is an amalgamation of the (pilot) modules 50880 Field
Work Seminar 001 and 50881 Field Work Seminar 002.
