State Implementation and Classification
Description
The course is designed for people who are working in statutory/investigating
position, primarily within the public sector.
Upon completion of the course participants will be able to apply a range of
practical skills to different situations they encounter in the workplace.
Participants will contribute to developing strategies useful for solving
problems and dealing with difficult situations experienced by investigatory and
enforcement officers in the workplace.
This Certificate will provide articulation into the Western Australian
Department of Training Diploma of Management. The specialist units will be
credited as Electives and the National Communication modules will be direct
credit transfers for some of the core modules of the Diploma.

The modules can be taken in any order, although it is recommended that the
specialist modules be undertaken in the order listed.
It is also recommended that the Communication Modules, Dealing with Conflict
and Negotiation Skills, be undertaken before the specialist module -
Investigative Interviews.

The elective modules have been made available as either specialist or
enrichment modules for those investigative and enforcement officers who require
them in the course of their work, or who wish to broaden their skills and
knowledge.
